Brother is a spoken-word reflection on the divisions that separate us and the humanity we share beneath them. We live in a world that constantly gives us reasons to see one another as different, distant, or opposed. But beneath our beliefs, backgrounds, and circumstances, we are all human beings searching for meaning, connection, and a place in the world.

This piece invites us to look beyond the labels we place on one another and consider what might happen if we recognized the person standing on the other side of the divide as a brother. It isn't about pretending our differences don't exist, but about asking whether those differences have to stand in the way of our shared humanity.

Sometimes, the first step toward a more compassionate world begins with a simple question: What separates us, and what brings us together?
